YouHub Association Romania in solidarity with UN Women joins the initiative “16 days of activism” for women’s rights.
80% of the YouHub Association team is composed of women in executive roles.
We support the UN Women message:
”Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread human rights violations in the world. Globally, an estimated 736 million women – nearly one in three – have experienced physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence or both at least once in their lifetime.
This scourge has intensified in a variety of settings, including the workplace and online spaces, and has been exacerbated by post-pandemic effects, conflict and climate change.
The solution lies in robust responses, including investment in prevention. Yet alarmingly, data on how much nations are committing to countering violence against women and girls remains glaringly scarce.
For example, only 5% of government aid is focused on combating violence against women and girls, and less than 0.2% is directed towards its prevention.”
